Top stars to play Cannock Chase concerts

Apr 19 2007

Three of Britain's biggest recording artists will be appearing at Cannock Chase Forest this summer as part of the Forestry Commission's Forest Tour 2007.

James Morrison, The Feeling and Jools Holland have all been booked to play at this year's event and it promises to be a feast of musical entertainment against a beautiful backdrop.

James Morrison

British Male Solo Artist James Morrison , a winner at the Brit Awards 2007, was the biggest selling male solo artist of 2006. His fantastic vocal talent and song-writing skills produced a No 1 debut album last year in ‘Undiscovered’, an album that finished as one of the top sellers of 2006, yet it was only released in August. Singles like ‘You Give Me Something’, ‘Wonderful World’ and ‘Pieces Don’t Fit Anymore’ have become playlist priority for radio stations across the UK.

James’ shows will be supporting the Forestry Commission’s valuable social and environmental programmes.

He will be performing at Cannock Chase Forest, Birches Valley, Nr Rugeley, Staffs on Saturday 23 June 2007. Tickets are priced at £23.50 - details available below on how to purchase.

The Feeling

Brit Award nominees for best British Single The Feeling have announced that they will also be playing at the venue on Friday 22nd June.

Commenting on the booking for the Forestry Commission, Forest Tours Mike Taylor said "We are delighted The Feeling has confirmed these shows. They are rising stars of the British music scene and will undoubtedly be a huge hit in the forests."

Dan Gillespie Sells of The Feeling says: "We’re really looking forward to doing these Forest shows. Last year we played a few festivals but people didn’t really know our songs. I’m hoping that’ll have changed this year."

The last year has been huge for The Feeling. Their four singles "Sewn" (March ‘06), "Fill My Little World" (June ‘06) "Never Be Lonely" (August ‘06) and "Love It When You Call" (November ‘06) were all huge hits and the band performed to sell-out audiences wherever they played.

The cumulative airplay enjoyed by the band’s four singles meant that The Feeling were the No 1 most played band in the UK in 2006. Their next single "Rosé" will be released on 12th February ’07. Their debut album "Twelve Stops And Home" from which all the singles are taken has now sold nearly 700,000 copies (double platinum). 2007 has started with a bang with The Feeling’s "Fill My Little World" being nominated for Best Single at the BRIT Awards.

Tickets for The Feeling are priced at £24 - details below

And last but by no means least musical legend Jools Holland & his Rhythm & Blues Orchestra featuring Gilson Lavis and guest vocalists Lulu, Ruby Turner and Louise Marshall make a welcome first visit to Cannock Chase Forest.

They now play an average of 100 live shows a year, touring Britain and the world to audiences in excess of 500,000.
