Goodyear encourages Midlanders to tread carefully on Bonfire Night

With Bonfire Night just around the corner, Goodyear has announced its sponsorship of one of the hottest events of the year.
Leading tyre retailer Goodyear has today further confirmed its commitment to family safety, by unveiling its sponsorship of Birmingham’s biggest firework spectaculars at Alexander Stadium in Perry Barr on Sunday 4th November.
With hundreds of avoidable firework-related accidents reported each year, a large proportion of which occur at family or private parties, Goodyear is working hard to encourage people to attend theCity’s organisedbonfire night event.
Anna Stanley, Goodyear’s Communications Specialist, said, “As a company we are committed to family safety and we recognise that being safe does not need to affect how much fun you can have. We would like to invite people to attend this year’s choreographed firework display. It has been designed by professionals and the show promises to be a true spectacular that is suitable for all the family”.
Goodyear’s commitment to encouraging people to attend a professionally run, safe Bonfire Night further supports the company’s dedication to raising the much needed funds to build a new £19 million state-of-the art advanced burns unit at Birmingham Children’s Hospital.
To date, the company has donated £10,000 to the hospital’s appeal but Goodyear is planning to add to this considerable sum after next month’s event. Revenue from employee ticket sales and donations collected at Alexander Stadium will be donated directly to the hospital’s appeal.
Jo Hodges Head of Fundraising at Birmingham Children’s Hospital said “We are delighted to have the support of Goodyear, and their donations are helping our cause considerably. The unit will help save the lives of many poorly children and we have companies such as Goodyear to thank for that”.
