CROWDS at Hickstead were treated to a thrilling experience as little Tiggy Vale took part in The Royal International Horse Show last week.
The talented 10-year-old from Beausale was riding My Blue Eyed Boy, also known as 'Fergus', for Andrea Boyle from Henley-in-Arden.
A fantastic individual performance from the youngster saw her finish eighth out of 29 finalists in the Nursery Stakes Working Hunter Pony, which involves jumping a course of testing fences including open ditches and water trays.
Proud mum Fiona was delighted with her daughter's achievement on July 29.
"It was very tense to watch, but the crowd gave a huge cheer when Tiggy and Fergus got a clear-round as only 10 out of 29 competitors managed to go clear," she said.
Upon completing her clear-round she then had to perform a show of walk, trot, canter and gallop.
Qualifying for the event alone is a tough ask as you have to win your class in one of the 30 qualifying shows - Tiggy beat older and more experienced riders in The Gate Inn Show, Coleshill.
Fiona added: "In the warmup arena she was working her pony in alongside some of her equestrian heroes such as Michael Whitaker, William Funnell and Geoff Billington."
