Ghostly goings on explained

Jul 29 2005

By Rupi Gohlar, Solihull News

SOLIHULL paranormal investigators are paving the way for ghostbusting in the West Midlands.

The team of eight from Midland Paranormal Investigations are dedicating themselves to discovering the truth behind unexplained phenomena.

They use scientific methods and a large array of technological gadgets to objectively find an answer to occurrences that do not have an immediate explanation.

Co-ordinator Mark Cave, who lives in Acocks Green, admits that much of the time, he finds rational answers to the jobs they are called to investigate.

He said: "We don't deny there are logical explanations to the bizarre things people see or the odd noises people hear - it could be mice running around behind the fire-place.

"But there comes a point when such reasoning cannot be applied. Scientifically there is no evidence that ghosts exist but the arguments FOR their existence are far greater.

"Albert Einstein, one of the greatest scientist of our time, said energy cannot be destroyed, and proposed the theory that other worlds or dimensions exist. Maybe objects from those worlds fuse into our dimension."

The group is affiliated to the national Association for the Scientific Study of Anomalous Phenomena (ASSAP), a registered charity that has been running for 20 years.

Father-of-three Mr Cave said: "We take this very seriously. I have taken the official training course by ASSAP and we use the latest technology to dis-count extraneous factors."
