NOTCUTTS Garden Centre's recy-cling campaign for 2005 will support Feed The Children International UK.
This year the garden centre will be asking customers to 'Boot Out Your Old Boots' in return for discount off a special range of Town and Country Wellington boots.
To kick off the campaign the garden centres will host a Wellie Wanging competition on the morning of Saturday May 7 for customers to have some fun and raise money for Feed The Children.
At just 25p a go or five goes for £1 and prizes to be won, in three age categories, for the person that gets their 'wellie nearest the pin', it is hoped that customers will enter into the wellie wanging fund raising spirit.
From May through to July 31, Notcutts will be encouraging customers to look out their old boots (Wellingtons, leather boots and walking boots but not trainers or shoes) and take them to Notcutts for collection in special dump bins. In return customers will receive a voucher entitling them to 20 per cent off a special range of wellingtons from Town and Country.
The old boots will be collected by Feed The Children and transported to West Africa where they are very much needed.
Says Julian Ranson, garden centre manager, "It is amazing how enthusiastically our recycling campaigns are supported by our customers and after the success of last year's Rake Out Your Old Tools campaign we just had to come up with another idea for 2005."
"We ran a terrific campaign with Notcutts last year," added Feed The Children chief executive Brian Main.
"So if anyone would like to help us please call me on 0118 932 0095."
