THERE'S tension in the air over the August bank holiday weekend at Kenilworth Castle - and English Heritage has teamed up with the Solihull Times to offer ten readers and their families a chance to get close to Wars of The Roses!
On Sunday August 24 and Bank Holiday Monday August 25, the castle's grounds will be populated with over 100 historic reenactors, housed in a living history village of over 50 authentic tents, depicting an army on the move.
The highlight of each day will be a morning skirmish and a battle each afternoon, as the opposing forces face each other in mortal combat!
The event runs each day from 11am to 5pm, with the castle itself open from 10am to 6pm.
Admission prices are £8 for adults, £5.30 for concessions and £3.50 for children, with a family ticket (two adults and up to three children) available for £19.50.
