A STUDENT has become the first person in Solihull to sign up to an innovative new website.
www.parkatmyhouse.com, which was launched by North London resident Anthony Eskinazi on September 22, allows homeowners to rent out their driveways and garages to drivers needing somewhere to park.
Ian Bousfield, aged 18, is currently the only person in the borough to have registered a driveway.
The Solihull School student has put the large driveway at his parents', John and Eileen, house in Talton Close, Monkspath up for rent for 50p a day.
As yet Ian, who is studying geography, IT and business studies, hasn't had any offers but he is hoping to attract drivers heading to Birmingham Airport.
"My mum showed me the article in a national newspaper and I thought it was quite weird so I decided to put our house on there," he said.
"We're not in an ideal location, we're close to Widney Manor Station but it may be useful for people heading to the airport. They can park on our drive and get a taxi to the airport because it will be cheaper than parking charges."
