Fancy performing alongside the acclaimed CBSO for the day? In true Jim'll Fix It style you can get the chance with Blockbuster Choruses From Scratch. The orchestra is looking for amateur singers from across the region to take part on January 30; after a few hours’ rehearsal (with some helpful advice from on-hand members of the City of Birmingham Symphony Chorus), you’ll then join the massed ranks for renditions of Verdi’s Anvil Chorus, Handel’s Zadok The Priest and Beethoven‘s Ode To Joy. “These singalongs have proved extremely popular in the past,” says Baz Chapman, CBSO chorus and projects manager. “We usually get at least 1,000 singers, with people coming from all over the UK. Audience tickets for the performance are £6 and £8 and the concert starts at 4.30pm.
