Dublin-based fashion and interiors guru John Rocha has been appointed to oversee Orion's look - inside and out.
Having operated under his own fashion label for more than 20 years, Rocha has recently worked on a number of interior design projects including the prestigious Morrison Hotel in Dublin. The Orion Building is his most challenging scheme to date, comprising three core phases including the tower, with a chic and understated look throughout.
Rocha's passion for natural colours will be evident in communal areas, including a breathtaking lobby with a water wall, stone benches and leather wall panels in shades of chocolate. Every home has been designed to offer clean lines alongside subtle colour schemes carried through the kitchen, bedroom and bathroom.
Rocha, who spoke about the project exclusively to CityLiving last summer, said: "When I was first shown the site I thought it was fantastic. It was supremely located opposite the Mailbox and close to the canalside with its bars and restaurants.
"I think there is a lot of positive energy about Birmingham. It is full of young people who want to create something special for their city."
Apartments in the 25-storey tower have already been released off-plan, and gone down a storm with buyers, thanks to its location on Navigation Street where it should create a striking impression on the Birmingham skyline.
Prices for the final phase of The Orion Building will start from £159,950 with a completion date of 2006.
